It was in the closet at first when I was writing these other songs, right? Like, I'm like, y'all hear these gospel songs, but I'm writing these R&B songs and just kind of keeping them to myself, you know? Because I felt like it was wrong. I mean, I felt like it was wrong. And I got to a point where I said, all right, if this is wrong, I need to see it. I need to read it, you know? So I went to the scriptures that people say, you know, you can't serve two masters, you know? That was one that was used all the time. And then when I read it in context, I'm like, what that? It was taken completely out of context. That's not what this is talking about. Nor is my heart in that wave of serving a person. Yeah, and so, you know, that was more in context of money, you know? But all the things I went to look for, I said, and then I read Song of Solomon, and I'm like, oh, this is like explicit. Like, this is like, some of this, if I just wrote an album based on, if I use the words in Song of Solomon, you would be like, oh, this is some, this is some wild R&B. That ain't a God? Yeah, and so, what I realized, and this is what I said in that book, is like, you know, we always hear faith comes by hearing, right? And I believe that faith comes by hearing, even if you hear the wrong thing over and over. And I think that became tradition. So I think with me being my dad's son and confronting him with this, he had to take a real look at it. And I think when he took a real look at it, it was like, well, yeah, I guess not. I guess if you're still able to maintain your faith and talk about these the same way I was able to maintain my faith and date your mom or whatever, you know, I don't see anything. And he became my biggest supporter. And then, for me, I didn't really care. You know, it's like when your dad got your back and stuff, I was like, I don't really care. Yeah, I'm Superman now.
