A cargo plane operating for Amazon crashed and overshot the runway in Miami this afternoon, leaving five people dead and sparking a massive emergency response. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Ray Jadalla confirmed the crash occurred just west of 67th Avenue near MIA around 2 p.m., with the aircraft striking multiple vehicles upon impact. Two victims were trapped in their cars and required a complex technical rescue. The pilot and co-pilot were also trapped in the wreckage as engine compartments caught fire. In total, at least 10 people were involved in the incident, with five confirmed fatalities. Three victims are in critical condition and were rushed to a trauma center, while two others were taken to a local hospital. The aircraft, identified as a 21-air cargo jet flying on behalf of Amazon, was met by nearly 200 Miami-Dade firefighters and 60 apparatuses. Fire crews arrived on scene within 30 seconds of the alert. An active fuel leak is still being mitigated as authorities begin their investigation. The FAA and NTSB will determine the official cause of the crash.

Alright, good evening ladies and gentlemen, Ray Jadalla, Fire Chief for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and just to kind of touch up on some of the things that the Madam Mayor and the Sheriff had already mentioned. So just as you heard, just before 2 p.m. today, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue received an alert 3 from MIA Tower. Alert 3 is a confirmed aircraft accident that occurred just west of 67th Avenue. What we found was a very complex situation here. As you may have seen or may have heard, the airplane did strike a couple of vehicles that required a couple of victims that were actually trapped in the vehicles. So a complex extrication with our technical rescue team started to occur. In addition to that, we had a very complex fire. Engine compartments that were on fire, including a search and rescue of the pilot and co-pilot that were trapped in this aircraft. Now my understanding is with the FAA, they want this incident to refer as a 21-air cargo aircraft. This is the aircraft that was flying on behalf of Amazon. This is the information that's been provided to Fire Rescue. This is the information that's being relayed to our media. A total of 60 fire apparatuses arrived, just shy of 200 men and women from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to begin the actual search and rescue and firefighting cause. Now we do have a unified command that has been established with numerous public safety agencies, including outside agencies as the Sheriff had mentioned. This incident will continue for the next several days as we play now a supporting role with the Sheriff's Office as they determine the cause of the deaths. Total 10 that were involved, 5 fatalities, 3 that are in critical condition that were transported to the trauma center, and another 2 that were transported to a local hospital. In total, I know that typically a request for the response time for our aircraft rescue firefighting apparatus, they arrived within 30 seconds of after getting a call. As you're well aware, these incidents require seconds, not necessarily minutes, in regards to a response. We do still have an active fuel leak that's occurring off of the aircraft that is being mitigated as we speak. As we go, now one of the other questions that tends to occur for the FAA is that the incident, the actual cause of the incident will be determined by the FAA and the NTSB.

I feel like I wouldn't be myself if I didn't address something that's on my mind. So when we first did this documentary, I was supposed to get a production credit. And so that's why I put the documentary together. The way that I did, I gave them a lot of talent. That's why if you go and read my book, you'll basically see almost everybody that I talked about in the book. I was able to get on a documentary aside a few of the other people that they had at the end. But I was the one that put that thing together. I was promised a production credit and the production credit said that even if the documentary was sold, I would be grandfathered in to the deal because I helped produce that whole documentary. So now when I see, you know, I saw where 50 was like, the proceeds were going to go towards the victims. I haven't seen that yet. I still was waiting, patiently trying to see what this was all about, what this was all for. Nothing really ever came about. So I was like, hold up, this right here is worse than any deal I did. You talk about a deal with Puff, this is a worse deal than the worst deal.
